Sara is the results-oriented owner of Summit Business Solutions, a consulting firm that specializes in executive search, strategic planning, and government affairs.

Prior to launching Summit Business Solutions, Sara amassed over 20 years of experience in the agriculture and natural resources industries.  She has worked in Idaho, across the western United States, and in Washington, DC.   She understands business and how to navigate the local, state, and federal government bureaucracy that individual landowners as well as small and large businesses have to deal with on a regular basis.  Sara is skilled in strategic planning, policy development, and government affairs. More importantly, she especially enjoys the people part of the business.

In the course of Sara’s career, she served as Executive Vice President of the Idaho Cattle Association, was Senator Larry Craig’s lead staffer during the 1996 Farm Bill, served as Executive Director of the Idaho Rural Partnership, head of the Idaho Soil & Water Conservation Commission, and was a Regional Assistant Chief for 13 western states at the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service.   In these positions, she quickly learned the importance of forward thinking, the benefit of recognizing the potential in individuals, and the opportunity to find solutions that are mutually agreeable.

Sara brings high energy to every endeavor. She is also a trusted confidant because of her ability to engage all stakeholders and to convert their ideas into action items.  She understands the importance of human capital in any business and can easily match the needs of the business to the strengths of the individual.

Sara was raised on a ranch outside of Payette, Idaho and graduated with honors from Payette High School. She graduated with honors from the College of Idaho with a degree in economics.  During college, she also served as Student Body President and was active in the FFA including service as State President, personal development speaker, and as Director of the Washington, D.C. Leadership Conference.

Sara and her husband, Jim, live outside of Boise.  As time allows, they enjoy all that the great outdoors have to offer – gardening, golfing, skiing, and snowshoeing being top of the list.  In her personal and professional life, she is always seeking to reach new heights!
